Delirium’s Dark Rise: The Tale of Deception, Manipulation, and Madness

By David John

SAN BERNARDINO, CA Professional wrestling is no stranger to drama, intrigue, and larger-than-life personas, but the story of Delirium is one that transcends the squared circle. It is a tale of tragedy, manipulation, and the unsettling power of belief, culminating in a dangerous faction bent on spreading their Master’s twisted message. With Delirium set to appear this Saturday at Jingle Slam: The X Man Slamtacular at VFW Post 8737, fans and wrestlers alike are asking: Who is the Master, and what is his true motive?

The Origins of Chaos

The story begins in the early hours of January 24, 2024. During a rainstorm, Richie Slade, one-half of the beloved tag team Beef Candy, was involved in a car accident. Early reports stated that Slade’s car flipped, leaving fans anxiously awaiting news of his condition. The outpouring of support on social media was immense, with fans and fellow wrestlers rallying around him.

Shortly after, Slade began posting cryptic videos on Instagram. His face wrapped in bandages, he spoke in riddles: “They say… make the best out of a bad situation” and “Emerge from the ashes or rot.” Fans noted a change in his demeanor. Whispers emerged of Slade hearing voices, but nothing concrete was confirmed.

Slade returned to the ring, but something was undeniably off. His charm and charisma, once hallmarks of his personality, were replaced with a cold detachment. Concerned, his former tag team partner Flex McCallion, fresh off his victory as the American Champion, confronted Slade.

Beef Candy Crumbles

Richie Slade and Flex McCallion were once inseparable as the tag team Beef Candy, known for their charisma, comedic timing, and impressive in-ring prowess. Together, they captured the hearts of fans and held tag team gold, redefining what it meant to be a dominant yet entertaining duo.

At the 28th Anniversary Extravaganza, Flex defeated Slade in a hard-fought match to retain the American Championship. But the loss seemed to push Slade further into the abyss. Around this time, disturbing videos began to surface online, showing snippets of Slade’s supposed therapy sessions. In one clip, Slade cryptically said, “Some people need guidance,” hinting at an unseen influence in his life. That influence soon revealed itself as The Master.

Enter The Master

The Master appeared as a mysterious figure, cloaked in enigma and menace. Claiming to provide “guidance” to Slade, he began to speak in ominous proclamations:

      • “The world lacks focus, but I can show you the way.”
      • “Those who stand in the way of truth will be broken.”
      • “Clarity comes from surrender.”

By August, at Straight Outta the I.E., Slade’s descent into madness reached a new low. During his match with Flex, Slade spat an unknown substance into Flex’s eye, blinding him. The incident halted Flex’s momentum, and his career spiraled. The locker room attack that followed only deepened the mystery. Standing over the fallen Flex was a man known to fans as Emir, who had previously presented himself as a harmless podcaster chasing his dreams.

But Emir was no ordinary fan. He had been playing a long con, manipulating EWF officials and fans alike. It is now widely believed he was behind the attack, furthering The Master’s agenda.

The Fall of Flex

Blinded in one eye and humiliated, Flex soldiered on but suffered a devastating loss to the Big Bull that saw his reign as American Champion end. The damage Slade and The Master inflicted had taken its toll, both physically and mentally. Determined to exact revenge, Flex challenged Slade to a blindfold match.

The match, held under extraordinary circumstances, ended not with victory for either competitor but with the shocking emergence of The Master. Declaring his dominance, The Master orchestrated the ultimate betrayal: Flex McCallion was “reborn” as part of Delirium, wrapped in bandages and rechristened simply as McCallion.

Delirium’s Reign of Terror

Delirium was born, a faction united under The Master’s delusional philosophy. Their mission? To spread their twisted message by any means necessary. Their mantra, “Stand with Delirium,” has become a rallying cry for chaos.

Before the brutal match with Eddie Ruiz and Anthony Idol in Banning this past week, another chilling moment unfolded. Jack Fancy was scheduled to host his Captain’s Corner podcast, but he never appeared. Instead, The Master took center stage, clutching a tattered Hawaiian shirt. With cold deliberation, he threw it to the ground and stepped on it, symbolically casting Fancy aside.

Shortly after, an image was posted on Delirium’s Instagram, showing Fancy’s glasses discarded with the ominous caption: “Big mouths tend to get noticed… sometimes they need to be silenced. He won’t be needing these anymore.”

The unsettling spectacle left the audience shaken, a harbinger of the chaos that would follow. With The Master at the helm, Delirium’s reign of terror has only just begun.

Who Is The Master?

Despite his growing influence, little is known about The Master’s true identity or his motives. Is he a failed wrestler seeking revenge? A charismatic cult leader exploiting the vulnerable? Or is he something else entirely? The only certainty is that he has co-opted Richie Slade and Flex McCallion, turning them into tools for his own gain.

As Delirium’s power grows, so does the danger they pose—not just to the EWF but to anyone who stands in their way.
